How we make money
golfnear.io is free to use. We pay for hosting, data and the time it takes to keep course information current through two revenue streams. We want to be straightforward about what they are and how they affect what you see on the site.
Display advertising
We show ads from Google AdSense. Each ad block is labelled Advertisement and is delivered by Google, not by us. We do not choose which advertiser appears next to which course — that is decided by Google's auction in real time.
Ad personalisation respects your cookie choice on this site. If you reject analytics and ad cookies in the banner, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised to you.
Affiliate links
Some links on golfnear.io are affiliate links. If you click one and book a tee time, reserve a hotel or buy a product, we may earn a commission from the partner — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate blocks are clearly labelled Partner and links carry rel="sponsored" in the HTML.
Our current affiliate partners include:
- GolfNow — tee-time bookings (via Impact.com)
- Booking.com — hotels near courses (via Impact.com)
- Amazon Associates — golf equipment recommendations
What this does not change
- Course rankings, comfort scores and weather data are computed from public sources (OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo). They are not influenced by who pays us.
- We do not accept payment for inclusion or for higher placement in lists.
- Course descriptions are written from public information and may include AI-generated summaries; a partner relationship never changes the wording.
